no, Loki. Baby. Please, no..
Oh, Thor, stop with that protective shit, you don’t understand. He’s not gonna hurt your mommy, she’s the only one who thinks well of him now. She’s still family to him.
In one of the kids’ books based on the Thor film, they did this character profiles thing for each of the main characters and in the section for Frigga, it was mentioned that although she tries not to show it, she actually favours Loki and relies on him a lot after Thor’s banishment. When I read that, I almost broke down sobbing in the middle of the children’s aisle in the bookstore. I mean if you think about it, Loki isn’t even her biological son and you’d think that would give her reason enough to favour Thor over him, but no - she’s raised him and seen how despite being called an Odinson he still has to live his life in the shadow of his older brother, and she loves him all the more as if he really were her own son. Odin keeps saying that he loves Loki and wanted to protect him from the truth of his parentage, and who knows maybe he really does in his own douchebag dad kind of way (sorry, not a big fan of Odin’s A+ parenting skills), but you still can’t ignore the fact that Odin also took him for a purpose, to be used later. Frigga, on the other hand, didn’t want to keep the truth from Loki because she felt there should be no secrets in the family. The family. That’s what Loki means to her. Not just another child to care for, not an adopted child, not a political bargaining chip, not an outsider, but family.
A+ parenting, Frigga. You go gurl.
